Korynn and Jonathan wed at the beautiful Montaluce Winery Estates in Dahlonega, right on the outskirts of the beautiful north Georgia mountains, only a short drive away from Atlanta. Photographing their wedding was truly one of the most memorable days and will forever go down as one of my favorite weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Korynn is the fun-loving type, the perfect match for Jonathan’s calming demeanor.
While it rained all morning, these two didn’t let the weather put a damper on their wedding, and surprisingly enough the rain stopped just in time for their first look together! The girls got ready in one of the villas while the guys got ready just down the street. Korynn wore a gorgeous gown from Kelly’s Closet and the most beautiful Bella Belle heels while Jonathan wore a classic black tuxedo.
The day was not only romantic and fun, but had the perfect balance of classic and clean lines. Let’s just say the photographs on film are truly some of my favorites I’ve ever taken in the winter season! I asked Korynn and Jonathan a little about their story, and the way these two met and loved one another is just the sweetest. I think anyone could attest by looking at these pictures, that these two are perfect for one another.
Here’s a few words from Korynn…
Jonathan and I first meet at a little bar in Atlanta about 3 years ago. I was in graduate school at Emory during this time, so was very focused on school and graduating. Also, the night we met, I was out with my girlfriends and not interested in meeting any guys that night, so I actually gave him the wrong phone number when he approached me & asked for it! Jonathan was very persistent to get to know me and one of my best friends (and bridesmaids) actually gave him my correct number later in the night because she thought I would regret it 🙂 Thank goodness for her, because I immediately fell for him after our first date and we were inseparable ever since then! In December 2018, Jonathan and I took a trip to Italy (Venice, Florence, and Rome), which was planned as a “Christmas present.” We had not formally talked about marriage yet or even what kind of ring I would want, so I had NO IDEA he was going to propose on this trip! While in Florence, he proposed during sunset at the Piazzalle Michelangelo (overlooks all of the city) and planned a romantic Italian dinner afterwards!
Korynn and Jonathan had their beautiful ceremony in Montaluce’s wine production room. Not only does this space provide one of the most romantic backdrops with an atmosphere that’s serene, the large window provides just enough light for the feeling to be moody and romantic. Along with the candles lighting the space, Korynn chose to have white petals and greenery throughout the space, designed by Alyssa Ice of Ginger Rose Flowers.
Korynn and Jonathan said that their guests and ceremony was one of the most important element of their day. “We want our guests to feel captivated by our love for one another and that the wedding day is personalized to us and our marriage,” Korynn says. “We hope that the meaning of marriage is not forgotten and we try to not get caught up in the stresses of a wedding day. Also, it is very important to us that all our friends and family feel included and as a vital part of our wedding day, along with having a super fun time!”
I asked Korynn and Jonathan what the best thing is that they’ve learned from one another. Their responses were so sweet.
Korynn: “He’s such a hard worker and passionate about everything he does. He taught me to be resilient and how to improve confidence in myself.”
Jonathan: “She’s the motivation that drives me each morning – as a professional, friend, and partner. She has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. Her kindness and openness to others moves me and inspires me to treat others as she does.”
Ultimately their advice to other couples is: To never, ever give up on the one you love! Jonathan and I have very different personalities; I am the easy-going, fun-loving physical therapist and Jonathan is the type-A, level-headed accountant. Initially, we experienced times where are personalities did not mesh well and it took time for us to work these things out. However, we worked through those differences and have found that we balance each other out so well and have characteristics that complete one another!
