Whitney and Bailey were wed in the most beautiful winter wedding at Foxhall Resort’s Legacy Lookout on Douglasville, GA. On a day that was supposed to rain, the skies cleared and these two said the most precious vows under the Georgia sunset. Georgia is a little funny, where the weather is often unpredictable. And on their wedding day, it was a incredibly beautiful, 70-degree day at the END of December. The light was perfect and warm, making the photography turn out absolutely beautiful, if I don’t say so myself.
These two met in high school originally and were together 7 years before officially tying the knot. The day began with the most gorgeous time at Foxhall Resort’s stables, where we originally planned to take most of the photos before the ceremony. The reason for this being, is that it’s one of the areas on the property that was completely covered, should it downpour. The colors inside the venue itself matched Whitney’s color schemes of greenery and white beautifully. Whitney wore a gorgeous Haley Paige dress from White Magnolia Bridal, a boutique in Atlanta, and Bailey wore a dashing black tuxedo.
The two opted not to see one another before the ceremony, but exchanged gifts and said a prayer together before walking down the aisle and seeing one another for the first time. To them, their ceremony was the most important aspect of their day and they both said: “This is the time when we vow to love one another or the rest of our lives in the presence of God and our closest friends and family. We have so many special things that we are excited about in the ceremony, a few being our grandparents, the officiant, and our family and friends all being together. Not to mention the symbolism of the rings and this promise to one another!”
After a heartfelt ceremony at the gorgeous overlook, we spent a lot of time taking portraits together on film in the golden light (this was one of their biggest priorities for their wedding day, which I LOVE). And afterwards, they danced the night away and had the prettiest sparkler exit, too.
I’ll let Whitney share a little bit about their proposal story…
“He tricked me into thinking he had a business dinner, but really, he drove me over to some beautiful fields and proposed to me under a tree with lanterns and beautiful flowers on a bench. We then went to dinner, where neither of us could really eat we were so excited, then we went to my house for a celebration with family and friends. I knew it was coming, but that day it was a complete surprise!”
I hope you loved this day as much as I did. It was truly one for the books!
