As many of you have heard already, this summer, I have the wonderful opportunity to serve alongside members of my church overseas in Messina, Italy. Thank you all so much, already, for all your prayers and encouragement thus far! A few weeks ago, I launched italy.hannahforsberg.co, my website specifically designated to documenting my journey abroad. There, you’ll find more information about my trip, the goal of our travels, and ways to encourage and support me.
There, we will be serving a church that is hosting its second-annual children’s English camp in June, and our purpose will be to serve that body by helping run a camp similar to a Vacation Bible School featuring English lessons, arts & crafts, and games. Alongside running the camp, our goal is to love others and establish relationships with the residents around the church in Messina; taking advantage of evangelism opportunities and share the message of the Gospel; showing them their need of a loving Savior.
I am so humbled, thankful, and counting it a joy that God is allowing this unworthy sinner to have this season to go and be a servant overseas. Oswald Chambers wrote, “Never consider whether you are of use; but consider that you are not your own but His.” My goal is to obey this calling from Matthew 28, and do the Lord’s will during this season…to use the time in Italy to serve The Bible Church of Messina, to share the heart behind their ministry through photographs, to love people in the same way that God loves me, in order to be a testimony to the Gospel. My goal is to go to Italy because I am not my own, but solely Christ’s.
Here’s some practical ways to become involved:
Pray for me: Please pray that God would use this time to prepare my heart in humility and challenge me in my walk with Him; that I would remain gospel-centered in my interactions overseas and in-country. Please pray also, that the church we’ll be serving with will see fruit from our labor. Pray for safety and protection for the team and for all others who are involved with the English camp, the provision of necessary monetary funding, and for the logistics going into the trip. Please pray that this trip will be used as a testimony of God’s grace and love; bringing the utmost glory to Himself.
Book a photo session: Throughout the months of March-May, I will be offering mini-photo sessions throughout the Kennesaw, Woodstock, and Canton areas in order to help raise money for my journey abroad. There is a minimum $100 donation fee for each session. Please contact me via e-mail (hannah@hannahforsberg.co) for more information.
Donate directly: If you feel called to fund me financially for my trip, you can do so by through a cash gift, or checks made out to Faith Community Church, designated to Hannah Forsberg. By doing so, your gift to the church will be tax deductible. If you donate, please let me know so that I can thank you personally and keep you updated during my time overseas.
The Team is scheduled to fly across the waters June 20, and return to home sweet home on June 30. The traveling, lodging, and food expenses sum to $1250, with $500 due by April 14. If you feel led to support me, please let me know! I would love to talk with you more.
I am so grateful for this time to be able to serve in the name of Christ and show the love He has for me overseas! Please continue praying for me as I try and raise funds and work out passport details. I’ll be updating the Italy site as I continue in the process of pursuing this journey and all that it contains.
Sincerely,
Hannah
