At the beginning of September, we found ourselves in the beautiful hills of West End, a stunning town in the Carolinas. PGA Player Lanto Griffin married his sweetheart Maya on a beautiful autumn day at Dormie Club, an iconic golf course that’s apart of Dormie Network in North Carolina with over 310 acres that melt into the beautiful rolling hills.
With a true love for a classic affair, these two opted for a black-tie wedding with delicate and intentional nods to Lanto’s professional career in golf through their signage, paper goods, and various rounded foliage pieces in their florals, with the addition of custom-designed golf ball drink stirrers with special Arnold Palmer featuring a sphere of ice awaited guests as they sat on the 1st hole for the ceremony.
These two have a unique passion for rescuing and fostering dogs, and it was important for the couple to incorporate their rescue pup, Troy, into their day by not only having him walk down the aisle but also with custom illustrations on their invitation suite and paper goods, and unique cocktails in his honor.
After a touching ceremony that was intentional to honor Lanto’s father, who initially inspired Lanto to play golf, guests were invited to mingle on the resort’s lawn as a live string musician played on an elevated stand. Following sunset, family and friends were then ushered onto another part of the property’s green, where they shared dinner together under string lights at 60-foot tables for an intimate feel. Adorned with textured and gauzy linens, the black tableware provided an elevated feel and contrast to the light colors and greenery of the day. After the sunset, toasts, and tears were shared as their loved ones recalled stories and memories about the stunning bride and groom.
The night ended dancing under the North Carolina stars with a warm autumn breeze as their closest friends and family showered them with love and celebration.
