After tying the knot in Australia, Samy and Deepak wanted to bring their wedding celebrations back to Washington, DC, where their relationship had grown. With intimacy and connection at the heart of their vision, they planned a rooftop dinner and dance party at The LINE Hotel DC perfectly capturing the vibrant energy of their city and their closest friendships. A Rooftop Venue with a View

With sweeping views of the DC skyline, The Monument Suite at The LINE Hotel DC, a sought-after Washington DC wedding venue, set the stage for a stunning rooftop celebration. Guests were welcomed with an assortment of expertly crafted hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails, garnished with colorful accents that tied into the couple’s lively color palette of orange, yellow, and green. The design of the space blended modern city elements with soft, natural touches—wicker and rattan chargers and chairs helped bring warmth and texture to the sleek venue, balancing the urban backdrop with a sense of organic romance.Florals by Days of May Florals brought a sense of romance and movement to the space, softening the urban backdrop with arrangements that felt natural yet intentional. The rentals, curated from Something Vintage Rentals, Nuage Designs, and Select Event Group, complemented the modern aesthetic with thoughtful textures and tones.A live painting by Spencer Grace Art captured the energy of the night in real-time, creating a lasting memory of the celebration. Meanwhile, Tiffany Rose Shanta’s violin performance set an elegant mood, seamlessly transitioning into the upbeat sounds of Zandi Entertainment, which kept the dance floor packed late into the night.

A Proposal Story to Remember

Long before this rooftop gathering, Deepak had meticulously planned a meaningful proposal that reflected their relationship. During a trip to Argentina, he orchestrated a picnic at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, where he read Samy a short story written specifically for them. As the story’s protagonist proposed, Deepak mirrored the moment in real life—getting down on one knee, with a hidden photographer capturing it all. That same sentiment carried into their wedding celebration in DC. Stationery from Maggie’s Art and Just Paper & Tea added personalized touches, while Angelica & Co. Weddings executed a seamless event—even pivoting plans due to unexpected weather to ensure everything came together perfectly.

Fashion-Forward Attire

Samy’s Clio Peppiatt mini dress was both stylish and fun, complementing the contemporary yet celebratory vibe of the evening. She paired it with a statement bow, adding a touch of personality and elegance. Deepak opted for a custom Alan David tuxedo with a Tom Ford white dinner jacket, a timeless yet modern choice that suited both the rooftop setting and the energy of the night.

A Celebration of Love and Friendship

The couple’s story began in the early days of COVID, when they met on Hinge and quickly realized their connection was something special. Their first date—an eight-hour picnic—left such an impression that Deepak called his mother afterward to tell her he had found “the one.” This foundation of shared experiences and deep connection was the inspiration behind their DC celebration. The night was filled with laughter, music, and dancing—an extension of their love for gathering with friends in the city. Although the event had to be rescheduled by a day due to unpredictable weather, Angelica + Co Weddings seamlessly pivoted the plans, ensuring everything came together beautifully. In the end, their rooftop wedding celebration was exactly what they had envisioned—an intimate yet lively evening that reflected their journey, their friendships, and their love story.
